This is the typeface favored by "Sofu Amano," Kisei of the end of the Edo period. Also known as "Meijin Koma", it is very popular and sells well. To make the tiger striped wood stand out, we chose a somewhat smaller typeface, Sofu-Gonomi. Customers often make fun of the fact that Maruhachi is only selling pieces with large characters, so why not try the popular Sofu-Gonomi with small typefaces once in a while?

Shozan's work is known for its time-consuming and careful work. I am looking at it carefully with a magnifying glass, and the use of lacquer is smooth and elegant. The typeface is a gentle and easy-to-read Kinki. The wood is an attractive and elegant red grain, a top quality wood for professional use. The wood's withered taste, fine grain, brightness, and color are all excellent, and the heaping up is the work of a master craftsman.

I am in love with Shozan's Maki-Ryoko. I had it made with perfectly patterned, dark-colored Satsuma wood. The photo shows two Kings, but it is a piece set of three Kings.

This famous calligraphy is also known as the Kiyoyasu of bold characters, and has been created by many different artists. It is also the owner's favorite typeface. This time, we asked Shozan to make Kiyoyasu piece using Satsuma's special wood. We are confident in the quality of the typeface, the wood, and the skill of the craftsman who made this piece.
